Of Sickness and Old TV Series...

As predicted, I'm sick again. I'm not really sure what exactly I'm sick with - seeing as strep throat blended straight into this - but I'm hoping that I'll get rid of it fairly quickly. Also, on a sidenote to the sickness, trying to get on with your daily schedule (work, chores, etc etc) is absolute murder when you've been sick three times in a row and still haven't had a chance for rest and relaxation.

That said, sometime this weekend I am totally going to get some spicy mexican food (crunchy, spicy, and oh so good...it's the ultimate food trifecta). I've been craving it since I've gotten this sore throat. Not that I can taste or smell a damn thing but I'm going to use some Sinex (which burns like a bitch, by the way) and hopefully it'll clear up my stuffy nose long enough for me to enjoy some food for a change because there's nothing like being sick to make a diet so damn easy. Don't believe me? I've lost 10lbs in two weeks...*cries*

Another thing about being sick. Why is it when you're sick you start remembering the shows from way back when? That's all I've been doing all damn week. I've been dying to watch Father Dowling Mysteries and Kung Fu: The Lenged Continues like crazy. 

FDM hasn't been on since...early 90s? I know it started circa 1989 so...a long freaking time ago. As for KF:tLC...I don't even remember when that started or ended and Kung Fu the original just won't do. I want me some Peter Caine! Shoalin Cop goodness. *nods* Only problem is that I can't find KF:tLC or FDM anywhere!  It totally sucks rocks that I can't find them. I would make a weekend of it and watch them both nonstop with lots of vegging in between.

Thank you for the well wish! :) I'm definitely going to try to have a good weekend. It looks to be a rainy one so it'll be tv shows/movies and relaxing on the sofa (I hope).

The original Kung Fu was definitely awesome. Luckily, you can now buy the dvds so you can watch, remember, and enjoy. The newer Kung Fu, however, isn't out anywhere and is practically impossible to get. I'll admit that it was kind of cheesy but hell, everyone enjoys a little cheddar every now and again ;)

I'm with you on the watching newer shows. I watch shows that aired ten years ago more steady than I do any of the newer ones. :$

Its supposed to be rainy and miserable here too. But no ice, thankfully.

As far as old shows go, thank God someone told me about netfix or I'd be broke. I'm catching up on MacGyver, West Wing and the A-Team with lots more in my queue. I did, on a whim over Christmas, buy season 1 of Tour of Duty. Oh man, am I hooked. Too bad it only ran 3 seasons, though. I hear good things about Heros, but I didn't catch it from the first episode, so I probably will wait until it comes out on dvd.

So, stay warm and dry and you'll feel right as rain come Monday. So says Dr. Mom, hee he.

I'm with you on netflix. I wouldn't get to see half the things I like to watch otherwise. I used to watch Tour of Duty when they showed reruns on...TNT?...and enjoyed it but now I think I might have to add that to my own queue.

MacGyver used to be my staple as far as TV show watching goes. I loved it when they had marathons on; I'd be parked in front of the television (time allowing, of course) and just watch and watch. Hence my t-shirt that has a empty toliet paper roll with a shred of tissue left hanging on the hook with the words "What Would MacGyver do?" under it. My love of MacGyver is...odd. :p

Also, question, I've never seen the West Wing but I'm always hearing people talk about it so is it worth the watch?

Yes, I think West Wing is worth a shot. I have absolutely no political knowledge what so ever, but I still have enjoyed the show. It can be fairly intense. And then there's all the fanfic you get to read when you have a basis for it. Also, with season 1 anyway, netfix had those double sided disks, so there were like 8 episodes on each disk for the first season. Please pardon that sentence. I'm tired and ready to tuck myself in.

I just love Terence Knox in ToD. I looked him up, and he's been around for a while, but the movies/tv shows weren't the biggest of hits. Except for a few exceptions. Like I said, I need some more up to date obsessions.

And speaking of empty toilet paper rolls, there's a funny commercial that features the cartoon bear family. Daddy bear and the two cubs just stare at the empty roll and go, "what the hell do we do now?" But mommy bear to the rescue, as she changes the roll. Hee he, I just have to laugh, cause its so true. Nobody can change a roll like mom.
