Due to the fact that this week was actually a bit busy, what with everything going on, I'm actually going to use this coming weekend for some major overhauls, updates, and - most importanly - writing.
I promised myself I'd write at least one solid Sheppard/McKay story this weekend, plus work on a new Harry/Tom story to coincide with the grand opening of Slyther, which I owe many, many thanks to
rivulette for. (Such an amazing job was done on the layout. I'm thrilled to be making such headway with it, even though I haven't helped at all yet. Thank you Riv, you're awesome!)
The Shep/McKay story is a personal can of worms that I can't believe I'm opening. I have to though, if I want to get my characterization right for my other stories. I mean, halfway through writing the first chapter of the Grimm/McKay story I've been planning, I realized that my characterization of Rodney wasn't that bad (a little OC but this is the first time I have ever written SGA) but for Sheppard...wow, just wow. It's hard to write the cute-playboy-badass role mixed with the serious Air Force officer who has a strong sense of duty and honor. It really, really is.
Also, I'm also going to be working on organizing some updates on my HPA lists...
1. Authors Personal Archives - I can't believe how many sites I have to update the list with. Cloe aka IndigoCat has been absolutely invaluable for this, as always. Thank you Cloe!
2. Slash Archives - I've decided to update the list with LJ communities to give people a wider selection of places to look for fan fiction. Obviously, these aren't archives but...well...whatever gets us to the ficition faster, right?
3. Crossovers. - Lots and lots of them.
4.General. - Cloe has offered up a few new general archives so those will be added.
5. Hetero. - I'll be adding the LJ communities I can find.
I'm probably going to do a few of those updates tonight in my spare time.
Ah, yes, another thing I meant to ask to those on my flist who have paid accounts...is it really worth getting a paid account?
I've been contemplating for some time getting one, it seems worth it, but I just don't know. I don't want to get one if it isn't worth the experience.
