Today was a very long day. Very long. As in it was so long, I thought it would never end.

Usually, I like Sundays. Sundays are about rest and relaxation. Sundays are about vegging, catching up on the book I've been reading, maybe splurging a little and buying an ebook, or getting a good solid work out in. Sundays are of the good. Of the very good. One of those cotton-wool days.

This Sunday?

Not so much.

This Sunday was filled with exhausting hard work, nearly having a heat stroke, and fighting. Oh, and lets not forget about the nasty little cough I've developed in the last few hours. Yay for this Sunday. Not!

Anyhow, at the very most I can say that finally step one of a very large home addition has finally been completed. We're building a balcony on the back of our house and the first step was to take out one of the windows in the game room and replace it with a door. As can be imagined, it was a very long process that took nearly all day. First you had to cut into the house, cut around the window, take out all the insulation, nails, and basically anything that holds said window into place. This is a four person job.

I won't go into a step by step process. It's long and tedious and if you haven't done it yourself, that's all you need to know. Add to it the complication of some unexpected wiring and hell, you've got a party right there.

By the time we were finally installing the door, I was so queasy from being hot/light-headed that I very nearly vomited all over my mom. My asthma was bothering me to boot. I ended up stumbling over to a computer chair that was near by and put my head between my legs so I wouldn't end up getting sick over everything and, as anyone whose had to deal with heat exhaustion knows, once you sit down and settle -- you just don't want to get back up again.

To make matters worse, I blew my diet completely out of the water. We were so tired that we ended up ordering pizza for lunch and then from Jason's Deli for dinner. I oinked out both times and got dessert. I figure the universe and my mother owes me for not spewing my cookies over everything. That's called justification for cheating on a diet, children.

By the end of the day, I just wanted to crawl into the shower and then bed. I've got aches on top of aches. And, of course, this "tickle" in my throat is annoying as hell. I feel like I need to cough - to you know, clear it out - but I can't cough and when I do, it doesn't help. I'm hoping it's just because of the heat and asthma combo. Maybe if I get some sleep it'll go away. Then again, maybe I'll turn into a purple elephant with lime green wings.

You just never know.
