More from the land of...

With the holidays fast approaching and the almost animalistic look in shoppers eyes (they're fucking scary, yo), I've thrown myself into comic book land because even the Joker isn't as scary as a little old lady trying to get the last present on her shopping list.
While on this journey into comicland, I decided to stop over at the ship_manifesto, fully intending to read The Dichotomy of Dark and Light, the Clark Kent/Bruce Wayne manifesto, when what do I stumble upon? I Got Blood In Your Taxi, the John Constantine/Chas Chandler manifesto, and it's not movieverse, it's comicverse! *throws party*
Seriously, if you have the time and the inclination, I suggest you go read it. It's wonderful and makes me wish I had an actual comic book store nearby so I could go buy me some Hellblazer, of which I have absolutely zero of. In fact, I'll be honest, I haven't read any Hellblazer beyond a few scans here and there. This makes me want to go out and find everything (like I did with Spiderman...*fidget*) and go to town with reading.
This is why I love comics. There's always something out there I haven't gotten to yet. That's one of the reasons right now that Matt Murdock and Foggy owns my fangirl heart right now. (Batman and Joker, however, will forever own my soul).
((I've long ago accepted that no one is going to write The Punisher fan fiction because he's just too dark, if that's possible, which makes me sad))
Interestingly enough, Empire Online has a The 50 Greatest Comic Book Characters list, of which I agree with some of it (Judge Dredd at #7 I just can't agree with and the Joker should have been far higher than #8). John Constantine falls at #3 in this list, right back Batman #2 and Superman #1. Both of those I agree with. Superman has to be #1 - no matter how much I love Batman - because, well, really he was the first, you know?
