slyprentice: (jesusfchrist)
The entire beginning of this month has been a bit fat bust for me. Actually, the end of last month too. Not only have I been sick twice but everyone around me is sick so it's more than likely that I'll get sick again in the very near future. That said, I've been neglecting practically every responsibility that I have.

I have been able to keep up with Wraithbait (where I co-own with the lovely Leah and Poet) but I haven't been able to keep an eye on any of the projects I have going. I've been writing in dribbles and spurts that last maybe for a few sentences at a time before I get pulled away by illness or things that absolutely have to done, right at that very moment.

New Years was a quiet affair for me (hang out with my family and cheers in the chilly new year with champagne) as was Christmas. The only excitement was a sadly brief visit from my boyfriend, who was planning to stay a week until he found out his grandfather had to have hip surgery. Another bust there. Three years of being 'apart' and I only end up with three days. *sigh* Thank God he's already served his MEU and only has to worry about going on a brief (two month) stint in California before his contract with the Marine Corps is up. Who knows what happens there though...

On  a completely unrelated note, I received a video ipod for Christmas (huzzah!) and have been using that thing shamelessly. So far I have...

Video:
Dexter (Season 1)
Lady In the Water
The Good Shepherd ( I keep wanting to type that Sheppard...*headdesk*)
Blood Diamond
Stranger Than Fiction
Superman Returns
Psych (season 1, save for two episodes that I'm missing)
Little Miss Sunshine
Pulse
The Librarian - Quest for the Spear
The Illustionist
Pirates of the Carb. 2
Dress to Kill (Eddie!)
The Dead Girl
Accepted

149 songs, 3 Games...

And I still have nearly 17GBs to fill up. Probably more since I'm planning on taking off:

Stranger than Fiction: (review) I didn't like this movie nearly as much as I expected I would but I still found it delightful. I love the style it was presented it but, I suppose, I thought it would be a lot more funny than it was. Mostly, I found it to be refreshing but not nearly as comical as it was presented to be. Not that that is a bad thing, I just went "in" thinking it was going to be a bucket of laughs and found that I was watching something else entirely. Or maybe I just don't have the "right" type of humor for this?

Pulse (review): Much like any other remake of a foreign horror movie, I found this to be good but nothing that I would go on and bloody on about like some people do. Frankly, in my mind, nothing with EVER hold a candle to the foreign horror "A Tale of Two Sisters", which I absolutely freaking LOVE and fear that, should they do a remake, it will suck so freaking bad it makes my eyes bleed.

Which should free up a little space so I can add some more movies...like Pan's Labyrinth, which I kind of adore right now. Don't ask me why, I just do.
