Allgeries and Writing Ethic
7/3/06 14:52Well, my chest cold is finally gone only to be replaced by a wicked case of my allergies getting the best of me. I'm allergic to mold, you see, and the mold levels in the air have been ungodly. Mostly because of the crazy spring weather we've been having when it'll be hot as hades (but sunny and...the way I like it) one day to chilly and rainy and cloudy the next.
It's cloudy today, in fact. :( I hate this weather. A lot. I hate mold even more and I despise, detest and full out loathe allergies.
The sucky part is...I can't take any allergy medicine because I don't have any allergy medicine and I'm not even sure how much good it would do considering that the weather isn't going to clear up for the rest of the week. -.-
Bleh. Cough. Bleh.
Anyway.
The bright spot of all of this is that I've actually gotten some writing ideas jotted down for a story (actually two stories) I'm going to be tackling. It's going to be a rather...big...story too. Just with writing down ideas, I already have three (count them...1 2 3!) story arcs I'll have to cover in...well....I don't know how many stories. *sigh*
I don't know what I do this to myself. Half the stories I write, I don't post anywhere because there doesn't seem to be a bloody list out there that is for what I write. *headdesk*
Anywho, yes. Three story arcs.
I'm not going to tease much with this (mostly because this is the first story in a long long time that I'm going to try to write that I'm actually taking very serious about deadlines) but I might as well just lay out on the table what fandoms are going to be in it because I'm probably going to be talking about them fairly nonstop for the next little while.
So, they are: Numb3rs/NCIS/CSINY
For now, at least.
I've been toying with the idea of throwing in a few other shows too, just because they actually would fit into one or two of the story arcs. For instance, Criminal Minds really would fit nicely into a small little niche in story arc #3.
The only problem is, if I stuck CM into story arc #3, I'd probably have to stick in another show into story arc #2 just to even out the playing field.
Which really leaves me stuck because...I have no idea what that addiotional show could be.
CSI: Las Vegas? No, because 1. I'm already writing a story arc that involves one of the CSIs and I'd really rather not go there, 2. those characters just wouldn't fit into this story unless I used Grissom and I can't write Grissom to save my life.
Bones? Maybe. Actually, very possibly yes. Only problem is, I haven't seen enough episodes to write a solid characterization of...whathisname...the guy from Angel...yeah, him...his character.
Hawaii? Uh, no. Not this time. Though I loved that show.
Fastlane? No, yet again. They won't fit.
...
See my problem? I don't know where to go with that so my only choice is to go ahead with the writing of the first story arc and see where it takes me...
In addition to that story, I'm writing a Stargate Atlantis / Doom crossover. Yes, you read that right.
...
Don't ask.
Okay. Ask.
...it's a Reaper(John Grim)/Rodney slash fic...
