Fan Videos, Star Trek, and Imeem Policy Change
Well I had intended to make a public post on here earlier than this but thanks to work and the fact that I've been working on a Star Trek fan video, I've been a bum about it. I admit, most of my non-posting has more to do with Star Trek than work. It's been a long long time since I've enjoyed the rush of one of my diehard fandoms picking up again. The last time this happened, it must have been...Star Wars, with the prequels. The slue of fics that came out of that...gah! So good.
Anyway, as most Trekkies (why did we change to Trekkers, people?), the new movie has ate my soul and now I'm so busy reading so much fic (and fangirling like a twelve year old) that I'm pretty much not being in any way productive. Other than, you know, doing a fan video and trying to resist the urge to participate in the ST Kink Meme that is going hardcore right now.
And speaking of videos, I don't know if anyone knows or not but imeem has decided that they're going to pull the video and photo features from the site. I'm trying not to be seriously ticked off about that. Seriously, youtube is such a craps shoot these days with all their goddamn rules and regulations and general bitch-assy-ness that I decided to move on over from them to imeem but it looks like youtube won the day. Which sucks because now I can't post some of the videos I had ready for fear that they'll strip the audio or worse.
I guess the hunt will have to continue for a new place to host fanvids. Why can't mediafire have a video feature? Why?
